Postcards are constructed images in drop boxes. Each Postcard holds several different images layered together to create one scenario. On the front of the box is a hole that allows viewers to peer into the drop box to see the constructed scene in correct perspective. The images are derived from photographs I took while in Iraq and others images that I took of the American landscape. I believe that these are scenes in the American soldiers imagination. Everyday, while deployed oversees soldiers remember and project their home experiences on foreign landscapes. When the veteran returns he/she is still mixing the two locations in their mind. Although the returned veteran appears to the rest of society like any other person, the soldier is still intertwined within two realities.
