Working with artist and U.S. Iraq war veteran Erica Slone. The project is focused on veterans of war, and the stories that they carry with them. We believe that self-expression is an essential part of reconciliation for anyone that has endured the hardships of war. As veterans, we have our own personal stories of war, and know that most veterans do not have a healthy opportunity to share their stories. Furthermore, the majority of our country receives their information concerning the war from the mass media alone. Delivered in the context of national news, ideas of war become impersonal to the public. It is our intention to impart to our community the human experience of war. Through this effort, it is our hope, that in some small way, our society will become more compassionate toward this under represented segment of our community.
